Welcome to the Tidewater Waldorf Community!

Calendar / Schedule

Classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30am - 1:30 pm.

Our program is a full year commitment. Our program will begin the first week of September and go through the third week of May. In addition to occasional holidays, we will have a week off for Thanksgiving, two weeks off over Christmas and one week of Spring Break in March. A detailed calendar will be sent after registration. Additionally throughout the school year, our community hosts four seasonal festivals, field trips, a camping trip, and other social activities for families.

Homeschool Requirements

Tidewater Waldorf is a cooperative learning community - not a school - and ultimately parents are responsible for their child’s education. If your child is 6 years old you must be a registered homeschooling family with the state of Georgia. If your child is not yet 6 then you do not need to register as a homeschooling family yet.

Parents are responsible for ensuring their child meets state homeschool education requirements. Our program is a full year commitment. Parents will be expected to support grades students with relevant work at home so that students are able to keep up with the pace of the class. Tidewater Waldorf does not provide a full curriculum to meet Georgia state requirements for homeschool students.

In addition to tuition, families are asked to help care for our community through ongoing care tasks at the school including gardening, maintenance, cleaning, administrative tasks, and classroom assistance. We view this as an additional opportunity for families to participate in their child’s education as well as our school community.

Tuition and Financial Support

Investment
The decision to invest in education is a significant one for most families and can have a profound impact on your child’s future. We hope that your tuition commitment will feel sustainable for your family while also supporting the larger school community. Our community values being open to families from diverse backgrounds and financial positions.

Payment Plan
The annual tuition is divided into 10 monthly payments starting August 1.  We divide our tuition over 10 months even though we are only in session for 9 months in order to support our teachers as they plan and prepare over the summer for the school year.  The monthly tuition fee will be the same for each month school is in session. This is a full year commitment and we are hoping all of our students can finish out the year! We understand that this is not always possible. Please provide 45 days notice if you need to leave the program.

Supply Fee
There is a once a year supply fee which will go to cover the cost of materials used by your student in school, including but not limited to: paper, books, watercolor supplies, beeswax crayons and colored pencils, wooden recorders, chalk, yarn and handwork materials, bean bags, etc.

Financial Aid
Our grades financial aid program embodies the school's commitment to enter into a relationship with members of our community. We provide the support you need to get here by working closely with you to understand your family’s individual circumstances.

As of now, only families with a child/children in the Grades qualify for tuition aid.

Beginning for Fall 2026 semester, we will be begin implementing a Financial Aid system to support our families. Links to apply for financial aid will be provided by April, 2026.
